Spiritual Giftings

God has given each one of us ministry gifts in order to better serve the Body of Christ and those who are lost in this world.  The gifts of the Spirit are God’s hands extended His eyes seeking, His voice speaking and His heart feeling.  It is a wonderful and awesome thing to discover that the God of the Universe wants to use us in His divine plan of salvation. So whether it’s bringing a cup of cold water in His name or preaching to thousands, we all play a vital role.

You may come to discover that you have the attributes of one or more of the five-fold ministries in Ephesians 4:11. This would be a wonderful discovery! “Discovering your God Given Gifts” is not designed so we can assign titles, but rather to identify where each of us can serve most effectively.  Joy comes as we serve where we are most suited.

Another important thing to remember is that we don’t define ourselves by our gifts.  Gifts can grow and change and God can add new ones.  Don’t limit yourself in Ministry because you lack a certain gift but have faith and grow in the grace and gifts of God.

Lastly the most important thing to remember is not what gift or titles we possess but who possesses us!  We need God’s character to truly function in God’s gifts. Remember the words of 1 Corinthians 13:3….

“So no matter what I say, what I believe, and what I do, I’m bankrupt without love.”
