I’m in Pinehouse, Saskatchewan for a Youth Rally and the Sunday Service with Pastor Bobby Alcrow and the Pinehouse Christian Fellowship. This is one of the largest aboriginal churches in our Fellowship. The church is growing; they are in the process of building a new sanctuary.  Do pray for the pastor and elders during this challenging time of spiritual opportunity.

Thanks for worshipping with us today. Nothing feels quite as good as “the right fit.”  Whether it be a pair of shoes that you have had around for the last century, or you just bought them off the shelf, when they “just fit” it is such a great feeling.  I suppose it could be that way with dentures as well. LOL! I believe that it is just that way with us and life. When we fit, or when something fits us, there is nothing quite like it.
Something inside of us craves this. We give much attention, effort and many dollars to see  this is so. Some of us may even be dying for that feeling. If this is as important to God as it is to us, (maybe more) then he must have something to say about it. Let’s find out!

Lois and I will be away this week to the annual international convention of our Fellowship. We anticipate faith-building sessions on the subject of “Greater Things,” as well as the joy of reconnecting with many friends and family from years past.

You need to appreciate the fact that our church belongs to a great family of churches and ministers worldwide.

Romans 13 provides incredible insight into the duty of believers for their nation. We are to vote for our leaders, pray for our leaders, support our leaders, and pay our taxes.  All who care about Alberta and the many people who make up this great Province need to cast your ballot tomorrow.  Tomorrow night will reveal those who will serve us for the next few years. Be an active part of God’s design for our Province!

A huge thank you to Pastor Gordon and all who contributed to the Easter presentation this  last Sunday. This was a tribute to our Lord’s passion and resurrection to be sure!

Your contribution was an act of worship to our God and his Risen Son!   This greatest story on earth was made real to many. Thanks to God for his indescribable gift!

One hundred years ago today, 1517 lives were lost due to the sinking of the “unsinkable” Titanic.  Those rescued  numbered 705. This ship had more power, more safety, more luxury, and more promise of years of service than any ship built at the time.  Its horrendous tragedy provided lessons enacted for future marine service; such as including sufficient life-boats for every passenger, and tightening the communication system from the crow’s nest to the bridge.  One lesson that may yet need to be learned; the limitation and vulnerability factor of humanity and the devices we create.  While the cold Atlantic waters were claiming the ship, the band on deck played “Nearer my God to Thee”.  May we all move nearer
to God as we acknowledge our weakness and His power.
