What is Baptism? It is the act of immersing the candidate in water upon the confession of their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior.  The Greek word, ‘Baptizo’ means to cover completely.

Why Should I be Baptized?

a) Jesus was – Matthew 3:13-17.  He did it in order to do what was right (vs. 15) and to establish a precedent for us to follow.
b) Jesus taught it. - Matthew 28:19; Mark 16:16.
c) The disciples preached it. - Acts 2:38; 9:18; 10:48.
d) The disciples practiced it. -  Acts 2:41; 8:38; 16:33; 19:5.
e) In order to be a growing disciple of Christ. – Matthew 28:19.

How Can I be Baptized? The Bible indicates that folks were baptized as soon as they were born again Christians. That means that you have:

a) Repented of your sins – Acts 2:38
b) Believed in the Lord Jesus - Acts 16:31
c) Confessed the Lord Jesus – Romans 10:9-10

When Should I be Baptized? As soon as possible after you have become a  Christian. Acts 2:41; 8:12; 16:33.  Or as soon as you are  aware of the truth of Water Baptism – Acts 19:3

What is the Significance of Baptism? It is a public declaration of one’s  identification with Jesus Christ in His death and in His resurrection.  Romans 5:3-9; Colossians 2:12.

What about Infant Baptism? We find no record of this practice in the scriptures.  Baptism has always been predicated upon faith and repentance; two concepts which an infant cannot comprehend or practice.  For this reason, we baptize adults and youth who are of sufficient age to make a decision of this importance. For infants we have a dedication ceremony.

After having studied these scriptures, and having determined that you are a committed follower of Christ, you may be Baptized. We invite you to ask the Pastor to arrange for your baptism.
