Pastor’s Notes

Discontentment seems to be a greater issue among the affluent than among the poor. I have noted that poor people often celebrate small blessings often. Those of us who live in more affluent nations seem to find much to criticize. There is a Bible verse that says “Having food and clothing, let us therefore be content.” Can you imagine contentment with so little? Our consumer world of wealth and thousands of choices has created many miserable souls. Should we pray for a simpler time? Or should we pray for a simpler life? There is something we can do.

We can determine to sincerely trust in God and thank Him for life.

We can learn to be generous with our stuff.

We can decide to celebrate more than we complain.

As we prepare for one of the most consumer-oriented seasons of life, let us consider how we can best celebrate the Christ who gave all.

Peace to You,

~ Pastor Glen
